Hi All,

I am an existing student pursuing my degree in Canada. Really struggling to find a part-time job here (I am not sure if the market is slow or this is normal).
I was thinking of approaching my previous employer in India for remote work. They are into virtual assistant services. Although they do not have an office in Canada they do have some Canadian clients/customers (mainly a few individual clients needing virtual assistants). Whether this will be a problem? If I do not handle Canadian clients myself (let's say I get an option to assist only USA or European clients/customers).
Is it possible to work? And if so part-time or full-time?
They are also hiring people as freelancers instead of regular employees for their company. Whether any of these options will work for me? (Full-time regular employee remote, part-time regular employee remote, working with them as a freelancer and if I can handle Canadian customers as a freelancer?)

Need your help and suggestions. Thank you.

Thank you. Yeah, I went through that link and some other threads still I am not sure if I can work for my previous employer(India) from Canada. They have some Canadian customers as clients and provide virtual assistant services to them. If I do not take any Canadian clients (and let's say I support only US/Europe clients) can I work for my previous company? (they do not have any offices in Canada)

Are you getting paid in your indian bank account? then do it
Hope this won't have any impact on PGWP or PR later on if I work full-time remotely for this Company?

*** On a side note if someone is working full-time remotely for a Company who have Canadian customers and receiving the payment/salary in their country's bank account (India or any other country) how will IRCC know about this whether that person was even working or not in their own country ?

Still not very sure about this. Don't want to take risk. Have tweeted IRCC but haven't got any reply/clarification yet. Anyone who have more clarity on this?

You can work remotely for your previous Indian employer when are studying full-time in Canada. You can also Canadian serve. This will not create problems for PGWP or PR.
Serving Canadian customers does not mean you are engaging in the Canadian Labour market or taking Canadian jobs.

I think OP's question was about working full time while on SP, if the company is also serving Canadian customers.
