Sorry for the repetitiveness but I was worried and decided to post here. My mothers visitor extension has been approved as of sep 12 but my dads is still pending. I find that so weird why wouldn’t they approve both. This is their 2nd ext request since the initially entered Canada on supervisa in 2019.

does it mean that something is wrong, thus why the delay with my dads application?
Applications for anything immigration are considered individually. When it comes to seniors this is especially important when it comes to the health of each individual. The ability to secure supervisa insurance and possibly have to pass a medical is also factor and is dependent on the health of the individual. If your parents have been visiting since 2019 they should expect that they will have an extension denied in the near future. You should be discussing their plans if they are denied an extension. Leaving Canada and going for a short visit to their home country isn’t an option. They should be planning on reestablishing if ties to their home country before considering another visit to Canada.

Yes , @scylla explained it very well.

Test involved in MR mostly uncovered Kidney and Lung disease (If any) Other heart condition and Cancer on many body part (If exists) can't be discovered. Until the Applicant himself declare to Dr.

My parents when applied for Super visa , for mother they asked to do Further test for kidney as her creatine level was out of range , so they wanted to make sure she don't required any dalasis soon (although for Super visa it does not matter to Canada govt. as the dependent need to take care of all medical expense ) but not sure why.

IRCC asked a letter from dr. stating as per her condition she don't need dialysis soon we consulted dr. and she took medication and her creatine level came down by few points and dr. did further test and we provided that to IRCC and she passed medical after 3 month of struggle. but this is not always the case.

Some time because of some parameter your parents medical can be failed .( Considering the parents age bracket 70+ there are high chances Medical fail) this is one of major casue for PGP rejection.

Hope this might helped you.
Good luck
You are required to tell the doctor about any medical condition you have. If for example you arrive in Canada seeking chemotherapy then it would be pretty obvious that you misrepresented the state of your health. If found to have misrepresented anything on a PR application that can lead to losing your PR status. Kidney disease can still be a big issue for as supervisa but your health in the short term is a bigger issue for a supervisa versus PR. You will need to qualify for supervisa insurance every year you are in Canada and can be asked to take a medical. The insurance company will investigate claims especially large claims to see if they are related to a pre-existing condition that you had been receiving treatment for in your home country. For example if you did need dialysis there is a good chance your supervisa insurance wouldn’t cover it so that would limit whether you could visit Canada.

My best guess is that they weren't able to meet the 15K target last year with 23,200 invitations, so they increased the number this year.

Also 15K is the number of complete applications they are aiming to receive, so the total number of successful applications would be lower.
[/QUOT

The quotas were set a few years ago and are purely based on increasing the amount of applications accepted for PGP because of increased demand for PGP and increased number of people immigrating to Canada. If anything there is a pretty good chance that more than 15k were accepted because LICO to qualify decreased and you could include income from government programs for multiple years when you normally can’t.

Yes for sure I am aware we need to be honest for medical condition
OP asked for what dr can caught , so my answer was , only few things you can caught by MR test , test you need to tell Dr.

For your 2nd point , yes in insurance you need to discuss all in detail with your Agent and based on that you should take insurance , i did not opposed it , did I?
Ex when i took insurance for my parents , i discussed all and every point wise point , and based on that agent will suggest which insurance will cover what , and offer you

You shouldn’t trust an agent. You should read the fine print because you will be stuck with the bill if any healthcare use is denied.

Hi Everyone,

Can you please clarify if we are unable to submit interest to sponsor a parent at this time? Also, is the 2023 intake solely for people who submitted their interest in 2020? Thank you.

The 2023 lottery is solely for those who submitted a profile in 2020. It is not open.

This is very common for IRCC to approve application differently as both applicant condition can be different .
Its not mandatory one applicant background passed or medical passed , so IRCC have to approve other also (This does not make sense )

what is your dad application status online ? Medical done ? without knowing background no member will able to comment on it
I’m sorry for the delay with my response. I can’t see the status online since I applied with a lawyer. They’re saying it’s still pending. They also confirmed that no further documents required emails have been received . It’s just so strange that my mom would get approved but my dad is pending. Is it maybe that two different officers picked up the file and one is just being slow?

Health insurance was provided. They wouldn’t approve my mom if they were going to reject my dad afterwards. They know it’s a couple visiting their son together. That’s why it’s so absurd and strange that my dads is still pending.

In previous years I can remember there was a tool to adhoc check if you got selected or not. Any word if that will be avaiable on Oct 10 itself or later? The suspense is killing me (and probably many of us)!
