Need urgent passport after citizenship ceremony

Hello,

We currently live outside of Canada. She will take the Oath of Citizenship on October 3rd and plans to return to Canada for one week only to attend the ceremony.

According to the email from CIC, she must wait two business days after the ceremony to apply for a passport. We are wondering why this wait is necessary and if it is possible to get a passport in the same week using the urgent service (next-day pickup).

That wait is for paper certificate not for e-certificate.

Even if its paper they ask you to wait for 2 days and for e-certificate i think is the same. But usually ppl are able to download between 2-4 days. passport can be processed on urgent basis with an extra fee
