Hi Guys, I have a question here... I am thinking to apply Federal EMPP.In the Work Experience section it says,

• Does not include any period where you were self-employed. So my question is, can anyone explain what does it mean?

It means that if you were working for your own business or as an independent consultant, this work epxerience cannot be counted. You can only count work experience where you were hired as an employee by a business / company (and it cannot be a business / company that you yourself own).

I work as an Interpreter for a company that provides interpretation services as an independent contractor. Is that considered self-employed?

I work fulltime - Requirement minimum 40 hours per week. Fixed Schedule. for example, from 8am-5pm.

If Canadian experience, did you receive a T4? Is CPP/EI deducted from your pay slips?

OP is asking about EMPP so this would be work experience outside of Canada.

So you are self employed, if a contractor.
