Hey guys just to update here - got confirmation of approval today. My New PR card has been mailed out and will reach me within 6 weeks.

Applied on July 5th.
linked to my account Sept 7th showing as in progress.
Approved Sept 8th.

yes after exactly 62 days. I did it from my CICGC accoun, I think to be able to do so they must start processing the application first.

Hi Guys,

I went to Canada as a permanent resident and spent around 2.5 years. However, due to some personal reasons I had to leave my job and come back to India, my home country. After being unemployed for the first 5 months, I started working from home for an Indian company based in Hyderabad. I am still in the same job. My PR card is going to expire in 3 months. I am going to Canada on one week trip in the next month to renew my PR card. My plan is to submit the application and come back. I have friends who can get me the card when they travel to India. I am intending to move back to Canada after 1 or 2 years based on my personal circumstances.

While going through the PR renewal application, I had below queries based on my situation.

1. Should I reveal that I have been working in India? If so, I have to declare it in the work history. Also, the same time period has to be entered in the absence history as well. Is this ok? Finally, what reason shall I specify for this time period in the absence history?

2. I have three passports. Should I submit front and back pages and stamped pages across all of them?

3. Since I am not in Canada for the last 2.5 years, shall I submit any explanation document about my intent to eventually move back to Canada after some time? (I don't want the VISA processing officer to think, will this guy come back to Canada? )

I think there is nothing wrong with disclosing that you work in India, all it matters is if you lived in Canada for the past 2 out of 5 years. if you dont have enough, then PR card will be denied. they do not ask all your passport stamps, unless, you are asked to do so.
2.5 years isnt a problem, as long as it's not over 3 years.

Do you know if they update each and every application to be Approved or there is a chance that we still receive cards without updating the status

I honestly don’t know,sorry. I have a friend who’s app still shows as in process but got their pr card in the mail in July, mine shows as approved.

Never heard or read of case where the GCKey status was not updated to Approved before card being mailed out.

Hi Everyone, I am planning to start travelling to Canada over a weekend to start accruing days to maintain my Canadian PR status (currently working in the US on H1B). Have a couple of questions regarding PR renewal in this scenario.

Q1: Until I am not moving permanently, I am planning to travel back and forth on the weekend (will come back to the US after spending a few hrs. in Canada). In this case, does my physical presence in Canada for x hrs./day (x<24 hrs.) will be counted as 1 day to meet residency obligation for PR card renewal? Also, Is Canadian address proof a mandatory document for PR renewal application?
Q2: I became a Canadian PR on Feb 25th, 2021 and the PR card expiration date is June 1st, 2026. To meet minimum residency obligation at the time of PR renewal, would I need to show my 730 days physical presence in Canada within five (5) years of the date I became a permanent resident OR within the past five (5) years of my PR card expiration date?

Would be really helpful if you could please help clarifying above. Thank you!!
