Hello everyone, I’m in Canada and want to apply for an open work permit. I’m a language teacher and teach to different age groups. I have read in www.canada.ca that a medical exam is needed for workers in primary or secondary school settings, or workers in child-care settings. I don’t intend to work in primary or secondary schools, but language schools for children. Do I need to do a medical exam or not? I just want to double check before submittig a medical exam to IRCC. On what basis are you applying for an open work permit? And yes, you will need the medical.
Due to my nationality I’m eligible to apply for an open work permit according to IRCC.
Are you from Ukraine?
It's not very clear if teaching children in language school needsa medical exam...

- clinical laboratory workers
- patient attendants in nursing and geriatric homes
- medical students admitted to Canada to attend university
- medical electives and physicians on short-term locums
- workers in primary or secondary school settings, or workers in child-care settings

- workers who give in-home care to children, the elderly and the disabled
- day nursery employees and
- other similar jobs
I’m Iranian and as I mentioned earlier eligible to apply for an open work permit.
