My wife will be eligible for Citizenship next year in October as she landed on October 22, 2021 therefore she has only 672 days as of today and is short of 423 days. As per my calculations, her 1095 will be completed on October 21, 2024 (Monday)

I came to Canada in 2017 as a student and have two work permits in between eligibility periods therefore getting leverage of 365 days of physical presence as a temporary resident. My wife doesn't have the leverage of a Temporary resident as I have.

Am I missing something? Can she apply before completing the 1095 physical presence?
In that scenario she cannot apply as she still need to complete the 1,095 days.
Then you and kids should go ahead and apply and once your wife completes 1,095 days she can apply

Hello all. My work permit (WP) expired in March 2020, before that I applied for both PR and WP extension (aka BOWP) while waiting for PR. My PR came in May 2020 before WP extension was either approved or rejected. I never heard back on the status of my WP extension application.
Now, in the citizenship application form there is a question: "Was the extension approved?" what should I answer? I can answer No, since it was never approved, but then the form ask: "Date of decision for the refused extension", which I can not know given it was never refused. Any suggestions?

Wondering, why some people say not to apply the exact 1095 days ((e.g. 1 week or two after is better)) ??

with no travel and 1095 days exactly, why should we need more days for eligibility?

Wait for 5-6 days extra and apply for 1100 days

Scrutiny from IRCC doubles up when you go for exact days as even a single day decrease could make you ineligible for citizenship. This scrutiny eases with buffer. Have seen this lot in LPP completion phase with physical presence getting stuck and GCMS notes pointing to additional review.

Guys. I am planning to leave Canada after 1095 days. I heard that all of the below is online, so I won't need to come here after the application. Is that true?
  • citizenship test
  • interview or hearing
  • ceremony

Last two can happen in-person too. Also ceremony outside Canada is still happening rarely in extreme cases. So keep an eye on forum for such cases for better understanding.

@gentjack theres also the fact that you need to respect the PR residency requirements at all times (2 years out of 5). It's usually a breeze, but if you're unlucky and your application lasts years, you will definitely need to come back before oath.

Hi All,

Please I have a quick question. When writing a Letter of Explanation, what IRCC address does one put at the top-left hand corner of the letter?

Should I put:
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
Case Processing Centre—Sydney
Citizenship Grants
P.O. Box 7000
Sydney, Nova Scotia B1P 6V6
Canada

Thank you.

Hi

Q1:

I had a work permit, which has been extended for a year
in the original work permit dates are:

2020/08/08
2021/08/08

but the renewal document is

2021/07/08
2022/09/10

As you can see I applied a few months sooner to get a renewal, so the dates are crossing.

in the application when it asked what was the expiry date; should I mention the original "Document" expiry date OR starting date of the renewal document?

---

Q2:

post-graduation work permit is :

1- Temporary foreign worker ??

or

2- Temporary resident status?
Hey!

I was wondering if you manage to find an answer to your query. I'm kinda in the same spot. Please do share what you did.

Thanks

I am stuck for a week on Q13 ->
Have you ever held immigration or citizenship status in any country other than Canada
Can someone help? I have worked in UK (temp worker) and USA (H1), but my visitor history is huge, as I had to travel across Europe, multiple visits to multiple countries numbering to almost 100. It is really difficult to get the dates, especially when some of the travels do not have stamps on passport, or have just entry or either exit , do not know why immigration officers did it.

Is there any one who did not enter the visitor visa history and got it approved?

You don't need the visitors visas, these are dealt with in the physical presence calculator, only the places where you had an actual immigration status, like a citizenship, a work permit, studies...
If you want at least one person who had no problem NOT listing their visitor visas, that could be me. I listed my country of citizenship and another country where I went to university before coming to Canada, but didn't list the US visa in there, even though I obviously had one since I listed some vacations south of the border in my physical presence calculator, and got the citizenship in 5 months.

Hello Everyone,

My spouse got his pr in 2019 and we are submitting our citizenship application.
I have couple of questions.

1. As my husband got in Pr in 2019 but the application ask for 5 year address history so is it okay to enter back home address?
2. For the tax year 2018, is it okay to check the tax filed not required and not submitted?
3. Is it okay to submit the high school marks heat as a proof of English language?

Related to my profile
1. I am currently on maternity leave. For employment history, do I mark myself unemployed or should say employed as I am going to rejoin my company once my leave is over?

Last question for both of our application

1. For the question where it is asking do you ever held a travel document?

Does this means canadian passport or it is referring to foreign country passport.

Thank you in advance.

3. That may not work. You will need to submit English Test score.

1. Will let others chime in

1. Your current passport
