Hi there,
I am enrolled in full time 2year MBA program. My first 2 semester were full time. In 3rd semester i took only 2 course so i was a part time student and apparently thats the same month when Covid 19 begins and government of canada removed the restriction of 20hours for international students so i worked full time as well. After that all the semester i studied was full time. So in this case am i at a risk of pgwp refusal. Please advice what to do??

OP has not been on the forum in two years and went to school during Covid.
Actually same thing happened with me i had one backlog in 1semester which was as a prequisite for 2nd semester so college removed some subjects too . So i asked college to give me backlog subject they told me to it is not running but we will give you subjects to get you studies on track. But they transfer me to being part time without even asking me or telling me that i was a part time. I also worked 20hr per week as i did not know . So will it cause any trouble in my study permit extension and pgwp?

If you were part-time and it wasn’t during your last semester then yes, you would not be eligible for a PGWP. It is not up to the college but your responsibility to keep full-time.

Just a question what if college says we don’t have the subjects running in this semester.
2) where it is written that a college has authority to change a student’s status without tell him or without his consent? The least college could do is to tell student he is now part time or you will be part - time but it is not mentioned anywhere.

It is up to you to be full-time. You would know by the number of courses that you were being dropped to part-time.

Once you graduate then apply for PGWP explaining reason for being part-time with letter from school about courses not available. Then see what happens. If refused, then ask for reconsideration with updated letter from school. If refused again, then take another program and be full time, leave Canada, apply for PR etc.

Okay if it is refused can i again take a full time course complete that course and apply again for pgwp??
Yes. You don’t want to fail or go part-time. Depending on how long it takes for response for PGWP, you may need a new study permit if you cannot extend it.

One more question if i drop my course now without completing it and starts new course in different college and complete it in time. Will i be eligible for pgwp? Or this decision of changing college will cause me any troubles?
