I am an Indian and I did my UG in China 2010-2017. At the time of my graduation(when i left china) I got a non criminal record as well from the police station. I didn't go back to China after that. Now i find it very difficult to get a policr clearance from China, as I'm currently in India. Shouldn't the old certificate be enough? It's date of issue is clearly mentioned as 1st July 2017, but I didn't go to China after that, so even if I apply for a new one it should be for the same period and will only reflect the same period right.

Usually PCCs have an expiry date. So you have to check it.
Nowadays PCC are online, people living in Canada gets PCC for India. You can try researching, IRCC have links to apply for all countries.
