Background check for my study permit

so apparently I am currently at the background check step for my study permit.

I emailed the IRCC office 4 days ago, and I have just received this:

Please be informed that the file is currently undergoing mandatory background verifications.

The file cannot be finalized without these results. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an exact timeframe for when the verifications will be completed.



We will be in contact when we are ready to take the next step in processing.

We hope this information is helpful and we appreciate your patience.

Any ideas how long should I expect this to take? My visa was submitted on May 31st.

Any ideas how long should I expect this to take? My visa was submitted on May 31st.

No one can tell you as it depends on country of citizenship, countries lived in, travel history etc. Everyone will have different timelines.
