Quebec has put in place a cap for spousal sponsorship. This is why the processing time has jumped to 26 months.Any updates on your part ? my background check is still saying in progress and nothing has changed…. I’m especially worried cause now online it says the processing time is 26 months for QUEBEC PEOPLE….
How can we know that we didn’t make it to the cut for example ? If I applied in December and I already have given everything in February. And since April the only thing left that’s not completed is the background check that says « in progress »…. Does it really mean that I’m waiting 2 freaking years for this ?????Quebec has put in place a cap for spousal sponsorship. This is why the processing time has jumped to 26 months.
There's no way to find out where you are in the queue. There are people from early last year who have everything completed (including background check) and are still waiting for the actual visa. I think it is best to assume that they will give visas FIFO (first in, first out). Yes, this means you should be expecting the 2+ year wait for your approval. How can we know that we didn’t make it to the cut for example ? I’m kinda regretting doing this cause I thought it would be faster than doing it after graduating from university but now…
does it take as long if I decide to do a seperate PR request but using my post diploma work permit ? Since they are starting this new law that people that just graduated don’t have to work two years before applying for the PR and can do it directly? There's no way to find out where you are in the queue. Is that a new Quebec program? Sorry, I'm not familiar with that program and cannot comment.does it take as long if I decide to do a seperate PR request but using my post diploma work permit ? it’s with the PEQ (programme d’expérience du Quebec), and they said that apparently now you don’t have to work two years before applying for that (obviously depending on the program you did, numbers of hours studying and etc). It’s okey thank you for your helpIs that a new Quebec program? Sorry, I'm not familiar with that program and cannot comment.
I don't know the processing times for that program. Nope. The consensus is the cap that CAQ has put on Quebec immigration.Any updates on your part ? my background check is still saying in progress and nothing has changed…. I’m especially worried cause now online it says the processing time is 26 months for QUEBEC PEOPLE….
