AIP = approval in principle which means it is basically approved and remaining background checks (it also means eligibility completed).
AIP is after background checks. It is the step right before being officially approved when you are just waiting for passport request or virtual landing but you have passed all other checks and decision has been made that you will receive PR.

I got my owp after getting aor from pr. And I got a job right after getting the owp.

I actually don't know, but given that ramq requested that information, I assume that no work no RAMQ. I also didn't find any information about it, I just sent in an application to ramq after getting my owp.
You are correct. To receive RAMQ or OHIP in Ontario when you are on an OWP as a spouse of a citizen or PR you must be working to qualify. In Ontario you even need a letter specifying that you will be working full-time for 6 months or ,pre to qualify for OHIP. Think many spouses getting TRVs are going to discover that they don’t qualify for healthcare unless they are working. This will especially be an issue for people with chronic health issues or for pregnant women.

This may seem like a silly question but I could not find a clear answer. Can PA come to Canada as a visitor, apply for OWP a bit after they arrive, with no job offer, and then if the OWP is granted can stay in Canada as a temporary resident legally until the OWP expires, eg, 24 months, and never actually work?
Is the PA a spouse of a Canadian citizen or PR? Based on your question or doesn’t seem so. If the PA is not the spouse of a citizen or PR they would not qualify for an OWP. They could attempt to apply for a closed WP if their employer has an approved LMIA or it is a visa exempt job.

Yes PA is spouse of Canada born Canadian citizen and is eligible for applying for OWP under the new rules, my main question was weather PA can just apply for OWP and if received, can stay in Canada as a temporary resident without looking for or finding a job, or is a job required to maintain the OWP status?

PA has TRV due to new announcement with Spousal in progress.

Spouse can attempt to get a TRV under the new announcement. Not guaranteed but will be much easier than before. We have yet to see who will get denied TRVs and for what reasons since it is a relatively new announcement. There is no need to work with an OWP but in some provinces that means you also don’t qualify for provincial healthcare. If you don’t qualify for provincial healthcare people should take out emergency travel medical insurance to cover them in case of a medical emergency. You should read the exclusion criteria to know what won’t be covered.

I live in Quebec (visitor), I have applied for OWP, can I work remotely for an Ontario company and still qualify for RAMQ? Or I must work with a Quebec company?
Also does the employment need to be full-time or can it be part-time?
