Good afternoon,

I am sorry to bother, I have a quick question.

We applied for my mother-in-law's visitor visa, the process was really really fast, within a month everything was done, her visa has been issued on June 27 and passport ready to be dispatched from Mexico office back to the visa office where she applied (Tegucicalpa, Honduras) since then.

But nothing has moved. When she went to have her passport sent to Mexico, they said that we would receive 2 emails. The first one saying passport is ready to be collected and that we have 7 days to collect (received this one on Wednesday), we were told to ignore since it's an error from the system. I still chatted with the VSF office to be sure and they said that the passport is not back and to wait for the other email and that they really couldn't tell how long it'S gonna take.

Does someone know how long it takes usually to have the passport back, from this specific office?

For my husband's PR everything was very fast, within 8 months he was here, same visa office but back in 2017.

So, if anyone is aware, even if I know that it can be so different from one person to another, just an idea and a little hope that maybe we could have her here for our vacations in 2 weeks.

Thank you very much and have a nice evening

It's hard to guess unfortunately. It can take anywhere from a few days to over a month.

That whole transit between Mexico and Tegucigalpa can take about a month, I've been through that a couple of times. Last time was when my in-laws got their visitors visa a few months ago. I would advice you to call the VFS in Tegucigalpa and ask them for a status on your passports. Those update emails are not always accurate.
