Moving from Closed work permit to PR

Hello, I came to Canada on a closed work permit (intra-company transfer) and I got my PR after one year. My work permit is valid till 2025 and it is mentioned on it that I cannot work for another employer. Now after getting my PR, is it possible to do part time job (completely different field)?

You can work for whoever you want now that you are a PR. There is no obligation to stay with your original employer.

I would say it's legal but depending on what the job is and how you're currently employed, you may be required to notify your current employer.

You should check your company's policies and/or call HR if it's a large company to confirm.

If you already have PR card, your status is PR, no longer on work permit. You're Canadian Permanent Resident.
