Can anyone tell me the purpose of biometrics? Only people from certain countries are supposed to do biometrics.why?

Biometrics is not for everyone. Only people who are not citizen of visa exempt countries need to submit biometrics.

Don't citizens of visa exempt countries need protection from forgery, stealing of identity, etc?

Really my husband is American and they requested biometrics for him...everyone needs to give biometrics
