FD-258 PCC USA FBI Identity Check

Question: I have lived in US for 3 semesters over 2 years with a break in between when I was not in US. Each stay was less than 5 months straight. I am applying for a PCC anyway as my agent said they probably will ask for it and if you can get it before ITA (currently doing Ontario PNP so have time for it until ITA) I might as well upload it. Since I am not in US anymore I wanted some details if anyone has done this before from outside US.

I filled up the FBI identity check online and paid the 18$.
I downloaded the FD-258 (I'll include 2-3 copies) and the payment receipt which is required to be sent along with the fingerprint card. (for people living in the US you can physically do this at a POST office I think using fingerprint machines).
Now normally in India people go to the fingerprint bureau at local CID / Commissioner office and get it done from a fingerprint technician. However you need to fill out one application for each card and for 3 you need to pay for 3 applications which is not much but the process here is like getting a passport. You need to attach multiple documents. After looking up online I am thinking of doing it on my own. Has anyone done this FD-258 card themselves and did it pass or was rejected? Would help as the shipping costs almost 7000Rs from India.

You cannot do it on your own. It needs to be attested by a technician. If not it will be rejected

This is not a mandatory field according the FD-258 instructions to fill the form. The reason to get rejected is bad fingerprints or if you didn't fill the mandatory fields. Instructions do not state you need an official technician to take it. Pretty much everyone suggests in US do it on your own cause the card is used universally. The only downside of doing it on your own from India is that shipping documents costs a lot to redo it.

Its totally upto you. I recently got it done in Canada and as per the instructions received it is mandatory to have it certified. You can do whatever you want. You I just gave my opinion
