Hi,
I came to Canada on the 11th of August and unknowingly I started working on the 18th. I worked almost 7 days before I became a full-time student.

I found out recently that I had worked unauthorized due to my lack of knowledge. I still have one more year to complete and the thought of having chances of getting my PGWP refused is ruining my peace. Pleaseanyone who had such a situation in the past??

I contacted an immigration consultant at my University. They said as 6 months have passed from ceasing unauthorized work, my PGWP will likely not get refused if I declare my unauthorized work honestly.

Someone, please share their experience. I need some peace.

None of us here can answer this question with 100% certainty. However I agree that your PGWP will almost certainly be approved. Make sure you declare the unauthorized work.

Thank you. Did you or anyone have a similar situation in the past?

There have been a few people. These posts would most likely be in either the International Student or Foreign Workers section of the forum but I'm not sure how you would find them. We have seen at least one person refused for this reason but I believe they worked a relatively long time (at least a month?) without authorization. Ultimately it will be up to the visa officer. There's no black and white answer to this question and no way to guarantee what outcome you'll have. But if you declare it and given it was just seven days, you will most likely be OK.
