I want to go back to Canada. 483 points. Helped much appreciated.

I lived in Canada for a few years on a ‘working holiday visa’ and now I would like to go backs Apparently I am only eligible for the Skilled Workers Programme, and my points come in at 483. That is with French, a masters degree and maxed out English language scores.

Would it be worth applying to the FSW with this score? I understand there is also a PNP, but my profession isn’t really in much need in Canada (journalism).

Any help will be much appreciated.

It's absolutely worth it. It's always possible there could be a drop in the cut off for a draw and you would be selected. No harm trying.

You're only a few points below the most recent cut-off score, and higher than the lowest cut-off score this year, so you definitely have a chance. If you are willing to live in Ontario and can score CLB7 or higher in French, there's this French speakers stream in Ontario's PNP programs. Basically they invite candidates in the EE pool with French skills, whose points are just a bit shy of the Federal CRS cut-off. Considering their draws are far and apart, and that tie breaking rules are based on profile submission time, I'd say its wise to get in the EE pool ASAP(If the English/French exam and ECA fees are cake to you).

483 is a great score…. If you have scored +7 in all French modules, then you will be picked in category based draws (in Francophone category) that are to start anytime now! So, do create your profile asap on EE. All the best!
