Has anybody ever received something like this?

I am single, no dependents, never used a representative yet, except the MP's office contacted them, but I hope they didn't attach themselves to my email.

I have a citizenship application and PR card renewal in progress, all the information there matches, so I hope they are not treating me as 2 different people because of this. Though numerous sounds pretty ominous.

Weird, indeed. It could be the MP's office may have mentioned your email address and some knucklehead IRCC employee associated them with your case. Regardless, this address seems to be burnt and IRCC may decide not to even use it anymore so you'll have to find another way to get updates. I tried to change my home address with IRCC through web form after submitting proof of citizenship application and boy did that turn into a saga. The whole web form thing is a fail. One should be able to create an account and send private messages to IRCC through that.

Hah, for me changing my home address worked fine. Though I am not sure when exactly they did that, I had trouble getting any responses from them for a long time.
But sending a travel notification was a bizarre experience. It took them 5 months to respond, and the response said that they are prioritizing applications from people who don't have covid travel restrictions. That was in the fall of 2022, when there were no restrictions for many months.

I was thinking of getting a lawyer next week, so hopefully I will never have to talk to them directly again. Or almost never... But for now I try to document all the responses as much as possible.

Curious why you sent them a travel notification? Also seems the fact your email is supposedly attached to numerous people is the reason for your delayed timeline?

I think it is a requirement to notify them if you leave the country for more than 2 weeks, and I had a 3 week business trip planned last summer. In the end the trip had to be rescheduled to a later time, and was shorter.
I am not sure if the travel notification has caused my application to derail so badly, and if my personal email is really attached to numerous individuals.
It is the first time I am hearing about this, they responded to my earlier webforms with some useless copy pasted text about covid delays or with some links to their website.

IRCC exists in a fantasy world where there is nothing impossible. Covid is still raging, there are travel restrictions, standard processing times are whatever sounds good to the employee who is answering your questions, routine/non routine classifications have different definitions depending on the time of the day you call, and applications from 2019 are generally a lot more "complex" than the ones from 2023, this is why they take 4 years.

I didn’t know about the travel notification. They’re definitely quite inefficient, but hopefully you hear something soon.

I am actually not finding anything about this on their website anymore. So, maybe it has changed since last year, seeing how they don't have resources to process these webforms. That was specific for people with citizenship applications in progress, to avoid scheduling in person events over travel. Other PRs didn't have any such requirement :)
Yet, it could probably be automated fairly easily, as well as most of their other functions.

I would not bother with this. It will probably just cause them additional confusion. My interviewer said my case is "complex" because I had multiple jobs and studied during the eligibility period. And she was saying it like it was my fault.
It would have been much simpler for them if applicants were unemployed and lived in Canada the whole time lol

Well, too late now, unfortunately I already did it. I wish I knew not to do it before...

I think they don't like unemployment periods as well. I think they use employment to convince themselves that the applicant was present in Canada.
I still don't understand where they think people might be without crossing the border other than in Canada...
They probably want one home address and one job from landing to application date. Which could happen to people who come on a work visa, buy a house, then proceed to get a PR and a citizenship, I guess.

Interesting that they say it is complex due to several jobs. Does looking at someone's resume require a very senior officer working for many hours?
What does being complex entail? Did they say it is non-routine?

They just said it's a complicated case without using the term "non-routine". I honestly think they don't know what they are doing. My officer said I did not need a police certificate (which I provided), but I know that I 100% did need it after calculating absences by stamps.
