Hello everyone! Greetings.

My spouse has an EE Profile (eligible under CEC) currently with 394 points without my IELTS yet. I am yet to take it these coming months. I took a 1-year program and applied for PGWP. I received my PGWP this May, and it will expire in May 2024 (next year). In line with this, I'd like to ask the following:

1. My current work is under teer 01. My employer brought up that the company will provide an LMIA. Will we get additional points for that? If yes, will the points be under my spouse's profile or my profile when I start to create one?
2. When is the best time to apply for LMIA - is it few months before my PGWP expires or I can do it now? If I have a +LMIA, will it make my PGWP invalid already? How are the CEC points counted?
3. Will we get additional points every year for work experience under the CEC with LMIA - for my spouse's profile and my profile?

Thank you so much! Your reply would be appreciated.

1. You need create your own profile with the approved LMIA. It is under your profile not your spouse’s.
2. Your employer will need to prove that no one in Canada with PR or citizen could be hired. So most likely will need to respost the job and show the hIrving process. Tell your employer to read through the requirements to make sure the company and job is eligible. PGWP will not be invalid but you will need to apply for a closed work permit and be approved if you want to work beyond May 2024.
3. You can count your CEC work experience under both profiles.
