Looking for a room near the university, shared or private as long as the rent is low

Did you check the U of O housing online board? What is cheap to you because Ottawa can be expensive.

Ottawa housing is not cheap especially not close to Ottawa U. Cheapest area somewhat closeby would be in Vanier but some areas I would personally not feel safe walking around as a woman. Perhaps you can find a senior willing to trade discounted housing for yard work, snow shovelling,etc.
