B2 Visa interview (USA) wait time for PR holder

Hi all,

This community was extremely helpful in getting my wife here almost 2 years ago, now we are looking into going to the States - just for a week or so - sometime in the future.

Filled out the applications etc for the visa and ready to pay/schedule an appointment and I saw the earliest date for an interview in Toronto was May 2025! Are my eyes broken or are others getting similar results??

Looking online I see other cities around the world with wait times as short as a few days, and it seems like for Canada at least it used to be 2 months on average. Is this the new norm?

Wait times for US visa are currently long in many countries. It is due to Covid.

Yes, this is the norm right now and has been for a while. Book the 2025 date and then keep checking for earlier appointments to free up.

Is it just as bad in Ottawa and Montreal? Could consider to travel for the interview if you want a date a little sooner.

It's bad all over Canada.

The best option is to book whatever date is available and then be on the lookout for an earlier date. Earlier dates come up from time to time.
