You're right, I'm wondering if it will change from outland to inland, I'll probably phone ircc to find out

It won't change unless you withdraw the outland application and re-apply to be inland.

Yes, you're eligible given you have a valid TRV and you're within canada while applying for work permit. You can't file a open workpermit, when the spouse is outside of canada even though there is an outland application in progress.
Step 1: Apply to TRV
Step 2: Only approved, travel to Canada and update all your address in IRCC
Step 3: Get a proof that sponsor and PA are living in same address
Step 4: Apply for OWP

Any idea how long does the background verification take? This is so frustrating...no update since 19th'April

Mine is from March 24 , no updates from then .. totally frustrated

Read the news about spousal visa applicants getting trv.. Can someone give me more details if you have applied for one or know more info about it. Like if we have to show any funds or any other criteria in place. Any info would be helpful. Thank you!
