I am planning to apply for Express Entry pretty soon. I've been taking specialized TEF classes for a while and originally I intended to apply for my PR in February. Unfortunately, I failed my exam and then got busy with some other stuff. Recently I have passed my exam but the problem is that my PCC from India is almost four months old now. By the time I get an ITA it will be around 4.5 months old. Do you guys think that IRCC will accept it? I know about the six month rule but some people told me on Telegram immigration groups that IRCC prefers the latest PCC and that I will get an ADR if I don't provide a new one. Should I take the risk?

Yes, your PCC should be valid till AOR. I did my Indian PCC ~2.5 months before my ITA to speed up my application and it worked fine. Your PCC is valid for 6 months (there are certain conditions that apply if you travel). If you haven't been out of India and your PCC is valid, you are good to go.
Hello. Thanks a lot! Can you please tell me one more thing. I actually did go to Dubai on a tourist visa to meet a sick relative and then also to Sri Lanka for a few days. So will this invalidate my Indian PCC? Will I have to get a new one now?

No unfortunately they were after. So once you leave India, even if you are a resident of India, you still need a PCC even if you quit the country for a few days. I don't understand IRCC's logic sometimes. So I guess I will need a new one now?
It isn't exactly like that. The reason why I asked was because it would've made your case very easy. I'm not sure if there are any implications of travelling post PCC issued. PCC mistakes lead to rejections and hence my hesitation in answering this prescriptively.

The 6 months validity is for those PCC that you are resident of that country. If you applied for PCC for India and from India the validity applies. You can submit your application with this PCC even if you traveled outside for tourist purposes - does not invalidate your Indian PCC.
ADR for PCCs were a special request during covid and is not expected under the current times.
Having said that, PCC here just takes 2 weeks max, a recent one would certainly be preferable.

I came to Canada on WP in 2021 from US. The Lawyers asked me to get a Indian PCC which I got from SFO Consulate. I applied for my PR in Sep 2022 and Since I did not travel to India after the PCC i could use the PCC which was issued to me for any Canadian Immigration except Citizenship in 2021.

But I live in India, and I am applying from India. I am a resident here. I just had a couple of trips outside India as a tourist.

Some people are saying I need it, some are saying that I don't since I am a resident of India and my PCC is valid until 6 months. Is it better to just get another PCC. Obviously, I don't look forward to the police verification again, but I also don't want to give IRCC a reason to deny me.

Hire an RCIC for $100/hr and get an hour consultation - solve your problem and move on. Don't DIY on forums with things that are a hard rejection.I'm still confused guys. :''(
Nothing wrong in collecting other people's opinions though. IRCC has pretty confusing rules when it comes to PCC. I thought the PCC is valid until 6 months. I'm just a bit surprised to know that IRCC resets timer on my Indian PCC just because I dared to go outside India as a tourist for a few weeks.
