Hi guys. I submitted my passport to VFS to get visa stamped on 19 April. Can anyone advise me, how long it takes to get it back nowadays?

Applied supervisa for in laws in November 2022 & since then radio silence. Requested my rep to sent webforms to Abu Dhabi visa office & finally heard from back them stating that background checks are run by third party agencies & IRCC is not in a position to determine when the applications will be finalized.
Not sure what to do. It shouldn't take a year or two to decide a simple visa application.

Just got an update from the MP. They had reached out to IRCC again and got the following response:

- The application is open and in progress.

- Medical exam is completed and passed.

- Eligibility assessment has passed.

- Criminality verification has passed.

- Security check is in progress.

- The application is on-routine, thus no timeline of processing is available.

In my profile eligibility completed but background is in progress. There is no criminality and security check on my tracker. Can you share ur application timeline??

My in-laws had applied for visit visa twice and both were rejected. They then filed for a super visa application with help of an immigration consultant.
My 2 cent is that the past visit visa rejections might make it non-routine. No one can predict the mind of the case processing officer. Fingers crossed on hoping for a decision soon.
