3rd visit to BLS. On every earlier visit, they found some error in the form and asked to correct. Today they said photo not as per spec (shoulder not visible it seems), I put my foot down. Spec sheet here - https://ociservices.gov.in/Photo-Spec-FINAL.pdf I was asked to sign declaration that BLS official told me about it and I am proceeding with the application anyway. Further carried print out of Sampark reply that SC original not required to be submitted. They asked me to put that in the declaration and I had to give them the printout and actually only then returned original SC. Finally submitted OCI app. Now wait begins for final phase. Did anyone have to sign such a declaration and was your application successful? .

The only word they have when u ask them is sign a declaration that bls will not be responsible… this is all they say if you ask anything.

Hi, I have middle name in my Indian passport and it doesnt have in canadian passport. For oci I need the affidavit. does anyone have the templets for it.

Contact a notary they will draft the affidavit for you.

For my son born in Canada they want to keep the original birth certificate as well.

Now that’s red flag for sure. This an Indian company appointed by the HCI/CGI. If they ask to original Indian documents to samjhata hain.
But keeping a Canadian document for sure is a no go.
Having this third party handle Canadian issued documents should not be handed over. That’s my take on it

Update: now when my husband went 3rd time she didn’t take any original at all… he asked her 3-4 times r u sure she said no , she doesn’t need it then why should she take originals .

The new thing we noticed today is that they r making fuss about photographs and the once who raises a concern about itthat the same was accepted before and then the agent accepts the photo but innocent people who agrees end up getting robbed by having to pay again for photo. They ask for 2 photos now whereas its not mentioned anywhere about 2 photos .

Did u submit any other original, one agent was asking for my son’s original canadian birth certificate along with all other’s surrender certificate, but the later one didn’t take any original.

It's going to be 3 weeks tomorrow since I submitted the application. It says 'under process' on the OCI website but no movement other than that. Any idea on when it starts moving along? I'm seeing a few people that have had some progress in 2-3 weeks

Hi folks - My OCI is printed and sent to Toronto CGI...Here is my timeline:
Walk-in Submitted (Brampton): 20- APR,
Acknowledgement: 25-APR
Originals Received: 12-May
Printing Status: 19-May
Dispatched & Document Received (Toronto CGI): 19- May

BLS staus is unchanged yet - so waiting game now to receive the document in hand.

If that's the update on BLS and if you were asked to submit your original surrender certificate or cancelled India passort, then this is most likely the case that they are sending it by Purolator....
OCI website.. just wait.. for the status to be updated in few days because I remember you already got the acknowledgement right ?

Will have to travel in second week of June, thus hoping the OCI will come before that.
Else will have to go the eVisa route.

SharmaG, check the date of Acknowledgment on the OCI website, usually it would be 30 days from this date that you can expect to receive the OCI card in your hand.
