Does foreign work experience have to be in the same category as Canadian work experience to be counted in CRS?

I was an English teacher in my home country. Now I am about to graduate in Canada. Do I need to find a job in teaching and training in Canada for my work experience in my home country to be counted for points in the CRS?

No but you need a TEER 0-3 job.
