Inland SOWP- Travel related question

For our planning purposes , I am planning to apply for my future spouse for Inland sponsorship with SOWP. She already has a valid multi-entry visitor TRV.

The question is: Once she has her SOWP, Can she leave and re-enter Canada freely without any risks of being denied entry?

No. The OWP doesn't guarantee re-entry.

Ok thanks. I am under the impression that the SOWP gets the same treatment as a PGWP (for example) in terms of entering and leaving Canada.

In other words , does the SOWP give the sponsored spouse a "normal" worker status , in which at the port of entry , they are admitted as temporary workers rather than temporary visitors.

(Temporary visitor : as in only has a multi entry visitor TRV)

I guess the question could also be asked as: Does the SOWP give any extra privileges in terms of entering Canada rather than just having a a multi entry TRV visitor visa ?

Thanks again.

Your spouse will be getting an OWP and not a SOWP. I'm not sure what you mean by extra privileges. The OWP does not allow your spouse to exit and re-enter Canada. What allows your spouse to do that is a valid TRV. Having a work permit of any kind (including an OWP) does not guarantee reentry into Canada. Generally speaking, a person holding an OWP and valid TRV should not have any issues entering Canada, but again not guaranteed. You would want to avoid leaving and reentering often and also long visits outside of Canada.

Your original post said "without risk of being denied entry". That risk will always exist when someone has temporary status in Canada. That risk will only go away with PR.

Hello Scylla,Thanks for your answer.
I was just comparing between : Spouse trying to re- enter Canada as a Visitor ( That would be in the case of an Outland applicant living in Canada) and between Spouse re-entering Canada as a worker ( Inland applicant with OWP). Wouldn't that make a difference ? I feel when you try to re-enter Canada as a visitor/tourist, and the officer knowing that the person trying to re-enter Canada is a Spousal sponsorship applicant (outland) bears more risk of denied entry than the other scenario.

In conclusion: I am trying to make a comparison between the risks of re-entry to Canada between Outland applicant living in Canada and between and Inland applicant having a valid OWP.

There's no real difference between the two.
