Duration of stay on Visitor Visa - Okay to stay 178 days ?

Hi Folks,
I have booked tickets on Visitor visa for my parents for a total duration of 178 days. I think the limit is 6 months which is 180 days.

So I left a gap of 2 days for emergencies.

Will the immigration officer be okay with this or should I reduce the days.

I dont see this should be any issue. You can always request for extension of their vistor stay for another 6 months and is usally approved based on my experience. My parents are travelling today and I have their return tickets booked with 179 days of stay. As long as it is within 180 days - you should be good.

I dont see this should be any issue. You can always request for extension of their vistor stay for another 6 months and is usally approved based on my experience. My parents are travelling today and I have their return tickets booked with 179 days of stay. As long as it is within 180 days - you should be good.

They can create issues during immigration in case of such a long stay.

There was no issues. My parents arrived and they said 179 days stay based on the return ticket.

You can include a cover letter indicating the purpose of the extension and that you will cover all the expenses etc.
