Hello! I’m about to submit my application for a visitor visa to visit my partner in Canada. We haven’t met before due to Covid restrictions so we don’t have pictures together, our only proof is text messages and FaceTime calls (which I don’t think have a long term call history that we could show). When I chose that i’m visiting family/friends in the application form it automatically included proof of relationship so I have to submit it, but I don’t know how. Are screenshots of some ‘couple-like’ messages enough? Is there any way to prove a screenshot is real? If anyone has been in a situation like this and got your application approved, please share how you submitted your proof of relationship. Thank you!

You can include a few screenshots. I would recommend keeping this evidence to a minimum given you haven't met in person yet. You also want to try to avoid any concern on the part of IRCC that you have plans on remaining in Canada long term.

What will be most important in the application is to show very strong ties to your home country. This would be evidence such as proof of full time employment, property ownership, sufficient savings to pay for your trip to Canada, etc.
