Hi,

Has anyone recently renewed their expiring passport? Does anyone know if we need to inform IRCC of the issuance of a new Passport# due to the existing one being expired??

Hi All,

I want to share my Indian passport renewal (expiry in another 6 month) time line in BLS, Toronto;
This may be helpful for you to understand current time line;

My India address is same as per address proof & passport. There is no change.
I have one change:
1. Added my spouse name due to marriage

BLS site status updates:
3/13 - Direct visit to BLS, submitted on 13th March 2023, status: "Under Process"
3/14 - In Transit from BLS Centre to Consulat General
3/14 - Processing at Consulate General
4/18 - In Transit from Consulate General to BLS Centre
4/19 - Dispatched via Courier
4/20 - Passport received


Passport portal site updates:
3/13 - SUBMITTED
3/14 - Passport application along with fee details have been received. The same is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate.
3/21 - Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.
4/1 - Police verification initiated
4/4 - Police verified address proof, uploaded document (submitted Aadhar card, voter id)
4/5 - Print has been initiated for passport.
4/17 - Passport has been printed.
4/18 - Passport has been handed over by the Embassy/Consulate to the OSP executive for further dispatch to the applicant.
4/20 - Passport received

My application has been approved for PR and I have my card PR now. Do I need to inform IRCC of the issuance of new passport#?
