BOWP help needed!

My original open work permit expired on Dec 7, 2022. I submitted an application to extend the work permit on Dec 6, 2022 and had been on maintained status since.
I do not expect they will renew my open work permit with the original application documents submitted.

I applied PR through CEC and got AOR on MAR 28, 2023. I submitted a webform to update my work permit extension application few days after my AOR. I included this AOR and my request for IRCC to consider the DEC 6 2022 application as a BOWP application.

The question is, if anybody know how likely IRCC will approve my case with the updated documents, or do they even check the webforms?

I am worried that my work permit extension application made on Dec 6, 2022 will be refused and I have to quit my job.

Should I apply for a new BOWP while I'm still on implied status?

I suggest you apply directly for a BOWP. You would be doing the right application and not have to worry about if IRCC will be favourable on the previous one. Additionally, all you have to lose is the application fees if IRCC approves the 1st application. If you leave it all the on the Dec 2022 application and it is denied you will be out of status and can not work. You will have to restore your status first and then ultimately apply for the correct BOWP, all while you can not work until that permit is approved.
