Sds and from indiaHey @vaibhavX123! Don't worry about your biometrics being updated, leave it as it is and don't bother with any more webforms, they won't help. The IRCC has definitely received your biometrics and they are processing it. You can check the availability and validity of your biometrics here
https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/extapp/bioStatusQuery
If you find your biometrics there, it means the IRCC has received it. There is a huge change that your biometrics and/or medical won't be updated until you get your final decision. A great lot of people have reported the same issue.
Are you an SDS or non-SDS applicant? Which country are you applying from?

Hey there!Hey @thomas23! Today marks 6 weeks on our application. My medical was updated on March 20, 4.5 weeks after our application on February 16. My husband's medical hasn't been updated yet. Our review of eligibility has changed to "we are reviewing whether you meet..." something we did not have on our first application.
Are you talking about medical request or medical update? Have you done an upfront medical exam and applied via SDS or have you applied via non-SDS category without a medical?
In the first case, you should not be worried at all as many people have reported that there medicals have never been updated, not even after they've received their PPRs. I believe @ridhamp00 is one of those people
In the second case, your application is well under the normal processing time of 10 weeks and you should get your medical request within that timeline. Also, don't worry, they'll process your medical fast enough in case it is the final stage of your application and you don't need any additional medical tests.
Hi I've applied under SDS from India for May 2023 intake
Application submitted - 5th March
Biometrics updated - 9th March
Medicals passed - 16th March
BVL - 27th March
No update since...it shows background check is being processed and eligibility is being reviewed...feeling super anxious as I've booked tickets for 19th April... I'm not able to create an application status tracker account either (it always shows "we are experiencing technical difficulties"
Sent a web form yesterday...no response yet
IRCC asks you not to book tickets until permit is approved. SDS processing has not been in place since before Covid. So you may need to change tickets and defer your program.

Hey there!
Thanks for your reply and comforting words. My country is not eligible for SDS so I have applied through non SDS route. I chose to not take an upfront medical and wait for a medical request. It has been 4 weeks since biometrics and 6 weeks since submission and still haven’t received any updates. Has there been any progress with your application?
Does processing time count from the day of biometrics or from when the submission happened?
Thank you for your kind advice, Parrot! Did you apply for study permit before? Seems you are very familiar with every step of the processing LOLCross fingers and hope we will be approved soon!Hey @naohFiona! Yes, you should definitely do that as SOP or LOE is the most important part of your application where you need to explain not only your study plan and ties to your home country, but all additional documents that you submit as well. Good luck to you! I understand it's been 6 weeks of waiting for you too by now

I also submitted my SDS application on March 6th, and I got correspondence letter on 26, still waiting for my PPR. Have you received the correspondence letter ?Hello!
I have applied for my student visa under SDS category on 6th March.
Biometrics are updated.
Medicals passed on 20th March.
Still awaiting the final decision. Has anyone who has applied around the same date received the PPR?
Hey thanks!Hey @nrkn555! BVL means the decision on your application has already been made, positive or negative, but made. There have been many reports by people that their BVLs and decisions came with some time gap between them. Normally, BVL and decision should come on the same day, but it hasn't been the case for many. Don't worry, you are not alone and your decision will come soon.
It is understandable to book the tickets in today's situation when ticket prices are over the roof and there is a time constraint. But I hope you ticket is refundable, just in case. Other than that, be patient and good luck to you!
A day after your passport is stamped and application is processed at IRCC and once it is dispatched you'll receive your POE letter.Hey thanks!
Just an update i received my original passport request on 31st March so 23 days from biometrics...I have sent my passport for stamping but haven't received a Port of Entry or visa approval letter that i have to show at immigration to receive the study permit...does anyone know when I'll receive this letter?
