I'm a single working mom, Pakistani, my son is a canadian national 19year old and currently studying in university in Canada
He went to Canada 8 month back. I am supporting him financially for his education. Issue is I can't live without him, I am alone working in Singapore and he is alone studying in Canada. Can he apply for my immigration, although he is not earning yet. How long will it take and what will be the requirements.

He can only sponsor you through a lottery. First, he needs to be making LICO (certain amount of income) for 2 people for at least 3 years. Once he has completed that then you submit your name in the lottery. It is very popular and over a hundred thousand people apply each year. So then you wait. It make take years to be selected or you are not selected.

So not sure when he graduates. But say he graduates in 2026. He needs to meet LICO for the years 2027, 2028 and 2029. In 2029, he can submit your name into the lottery. If not selected then, you wait for another year. If selected in 2029, you apply for PR and right now processsing is 25 months. So you would come to Canada in about 2031.

What does this have anything to do with Express Entry? Do you plan to apply for PR yourself independent of your son?

If you "can't live without him" and if your visitor visa application is refused, will you consider asking him to change his education and to stay in Singapore?
