Hi everyone.

I got ITA in the last draw #245 with CRS of 484 with wife accompanying. Our IELTS is expiring on April 17th, so we retook it in advance on April 1st and got a slightly lower score. I recalculated our CRS using the official calculator and got exactly 481, same as cutoff for our draw. Our EE profile was originally submitted June 2022, well before the tie-breaking rule. We were scrambling to get documents before April 17th o_O

Based on the IRCC guidelines, are we in the clear? Can we take the full 60 days of the ITA to apply now?

Draw #245 details:
Rank required to be invited to apply: 7,000 or above
Date and time of round: March 29, 2023 13:44:01 UTC
CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 481
Tie-breaking rule: February 14, 2023 07:35:00 UTC

You should be good as you meet the cutoff criteria. Although, let's wait for community wisdom to kick in.

Quick question - why are you scrambling to get documents before April 17th? You got 60 days! :D

Thanks fam. We weren't sure if the new IELTS scores would be good enough.
So we were preparing to submit eAPR before the previous one expires.

Ah, silly me! I totally missed that part. If you have your PCC ready, everything else can be done within a week. There are some very senior members here, worth tagging them and getting an answer out as fast as possible.

No PCC yet but I'll be so happy if we can wait on them (and not have to submit a LOE ). We have medicals tomorrow.

This was an advice from @navinball on submitting a LOE instead of PCC: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/pcc-from-australia-even-when-i-never-went-to-australia.793298/post-10417496

I think it applies to your case too. Don't take those risks, talk to a RCIC or find very specific info on the forum before making those moves.

I think LOE for PCC would only be considered if applicant is not able to obtain the same within 60 days, isnt it ?

EDIT - see section - If you cannot get a police certificate in time

We applied for it since February, there was a total shut down of PCCs in Trinidad and Tobago for a month.

But based on the new CRS of 481 and the minimum cutoff for our ITA draw. We should be fine to wait on all documents?

I read the link, but this line which says "In very rare cases" doesn't feel very supportive. It seems like they are highly likely to reject the application from that language:

Option 2: Prove you applied for the police certificate
In very rare cases, we may accept both a letter of explanation and proof that shows you made your best effort to get a police certificate on time.

Indeed, the language seems tilting more towards rejection. However there is a provision of having LOE albeit in rare case :D

Would like some senior members to reassure me that I can continue application with of CRS of 481 (as it meets the draw #245 criteria). Hope fully no LOE would be needed by that time.

How about one more try at IETLS ? I understand it can be exhausting though - mentally and financially.

Atleast if you score more, you won't have to worry.

In any case, with your PCC pending, I assume you wont be able to submit application on time (with old IELTS).
