Can Super Visa holders stay outside Canada for a short period and return without any issue?

My parents are Super Visa holders and have been in Canada for the past 1 and a half years. They are planning to visit their home country for a month and a half and then return to Canada. Their Super Visas are still valid for a few years. Will their short stay outside Canada create any issue at the port of entry when they return to Canada? Or can Super Visa holders leave and re-enter Canada as many times as they want during the validity of their visa?"

If and how long they are allowed back into Canada is always up to CBSA. Reentry is not guaranteed.

Hi - here's a tip: don't let them tell the CBSA that they were "visiting" their country of citizenship and are now returning home to Canada where they only enjoy temporary resident status.

Thanks for replying but wouldn't they already know(CBSA) that ?

They're visiting Canada & live in their home country, no? If it looks like it's the reverse then this next visit to Canada could be limited
The point is that they are visiting Canada not living in Canada. They live in their home country. In general they shouldn’t be visiting their home country. They live there.
Precisely.

I'm asking the same question as the original "poster" but the visit in this case is 9 days then back to Canada. Any tips/advice? Just the same thing, just say I'm visiting Canada? This whole issue with maintaining ties to the home country presents a line you have to toe.

Hi ,

When applying on IRCC Portal, I am confused on below, how to answer these.

Question 1: How much money do you have for your stay in Canada?(In CAD)
Question 2: is someone else is giving you money for your stay in Canada?
Answer is YES and details provided.

I am confused now what amount should I write in Question 1? should I write applicant's bank closing amount (which is only $3000-$4000) or inviter/sponsor bank closing amount (which is approx. $20000)? as I have also attached inviter bank statement.

please advise?

Whatever money the person has access to, should be written in there.

That is a clear warning sign that they are trying to live in Canada. Nobody goes to their home country for 9 days if they are truly living their. This screams trying to reset their supervisa time. They risk being given a limited stay upon return. Supervisa is a very generous visitor policy so if people are blatantly living in Canada and only leaving Canada to reset their allowed stay in Canada that comes with risks. Nobody will be able to guarantee what will happen. The best way to guarantee a smooth reentry for another visit is to stay in your home country much longer than 9 days.

Cool. The parent I'm talking about has a permanent visa application submitted since 5 months back so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to have them stay out for 9 months. I've also read on here that someone's dad flagpoled to reset his visa without a problem between NY and Ontario.

There are also situations on here where parents have tried the same thing and been denied entry back into Canada. Something to be careful of if CBSA thinks you are abusing the system. Entry is never guaranteed.

The fact that the parent has a PR application in process doesn’t impact whether they will be able to return to Canada after such a short period outside of Canada. As already specified there are also cases where parents have been denied entry or been given a few weeks extension to return home. Until they are a PR they remain a visitor.
