Need urgent help please:-Study gap due to entrance exam

Hello!
I have been selected for PhD at McGill. I have 3 years gap after 12th grade because I was preparing for entrance exam of medical. In one year I improved my marks. In the next two years I again gave attempts but I couldn’t make into medical college.
I am going to submit my visa application initially I skipped this gap and did not mention my 12 grade and started my SOP from bachelor but then I have to fill employment section in IMM1294 form giving my last 10 years activity where I have to mention about 2013’s activity as well.
So in this case,
Can I explain my this gap in my Visa SOP? I don’t have any proof as these years were from 2011 to 2014. I don’t have any slip or form to show.
Would it be enough just to explain in SOP without proof?
Please help me. I would appreciate the kind response.

The fact that you took time off between grade 12 and starting your bachelor degree will unlikely have any impact on your study permit so just be honest. There is no need to spend any time on explaining the 3 year gap. Just keep it short and sweet if an explanation of the the 3 year gap is relevant to your SOP. You do need to be honest in any chronology or education/work history. Would put studying for medical school entrance exam (not sure if it is MCAT or other test). Under work history for example I would put unemployed while studying for medical school entrance exam.
