Citizenship test scheduled: Feb 6-26
Citizenship test done: Feb 6
Citizenship test completed: Feb 6
Prohibitions, Language, Physical Presence: March 7
Gost update: March 2nd
Citizenship Ceremony: not started
Wow! You're so close! I really don't understand their process at all. I completed my test in November, still don't have LPP done. So frustrating. Nothing has changed since the test completion. Saw ghost update March 2 but nothing more. How do they divide the work in that office? The wait and completion times seem so random and not in chronological order.

The entire system is erratic and like the wild wild west - there is no transparency, no accountability, no consistency, no means of support and the govt enjoys interest free loans on $650 grabbed from everyone for 2 years without providing any semblance of a decent service or SLA. I hope some of the newly minted citizens take up decision making positions within the organization and introduce some much needed professionalism and empathy to the system.

It’s really frustrating to see some move right through in 6-7 months and others take years. They excuse the differences and say “each application is unique” that is just a lame excuse because it’s obvious that much of the difference is arbitrary processing by an unprofessional mismanaged agency.

Exactly ! I do not grudge the folks getting approved in 6 months but the maintaining this cloak of 'secrecy' in the process is just an excuse to hide incompetence. The manner in which the paper applications are still processed faster than online is one of the other ridiculous manifestations of this.

Not only paper applications, looks like even online applications submitted in recent months are moving much faster similar to paper ones.

I got a ghost update today.
This is great, hopefully this means Niagara Falls office is gearing up for a citizenship ceremony for us. Fingers crossed

Also I see a couple of posters above in the Niagara Falls office that have gotten updates in the last couple of days.

For those of you who called IRCC, did they provide an explanation as to why SCR office is so slow? Just wandering. Thanks. More patience to all who are waiting.

my experiences calling them have not been fruitful - you will be provided the same exact status that you see online and be given the response that the official processing time is 23 months.

Called them this morning and they give you generic answers you can easily get online. It’s absolutely pointless and increases the frustrations. So why pay people to man the phones if they can’t provide you with more information ? Another way to waste money by the government and of course paid by taxpayers!
The man I spoke with this morning told to expect my application to be completed mid February 2024! What a joke!
Could not answer any questions whatsoever it’s probably the worst immigration process I’ve come across. Lack of information and transparency with no clear timelines and or process!

I requested notes on my file under the access to information twice since October 2022 and nothing.
The whole system needs massive overhaul
