Hi there,
I was supposed to get PGWP till August 2024 but I only got till December 2023 due to my passport expiry. I have now renewed my passport and I have few questions:
1) I was wondering if I can apply to extend my PGWP now or does it have to be done within 4 months from expiry date?
2) Is PGWP extension application done by paper faster or is online faster?
3) I have a lot going on, hence I would really require my PGWP and visa renewed as soon as possible, hence I was thinking of flagpoling. Do you think it is possible to get my PGWP extended by flagpoling now since I still have 8 more months left.
4) If I flagpole and get my PGWP extended, will I still have to pay $255 to them?

I would appreciate any suggestion. Thank you so much!

1. Yes, you can. I would advice attaching a letter explaining your situation.

2. According to the website right now, it says 154 days for online and 29 days for paper, so I guess paper sounds better. I've always applied online. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html

3. Can't comment on this

4. I believe you still have to pay the $255 for the extension, doesn't matter if you apply online, by paper, or flagpoling.
