Hi guys, I had applied for student visa back in 2020 and got denied 3 times, mainly because of family ties back at home. My sister was then in Canada as a student and i was single with no job and nothing to show except my parents.
I am now married, employed,a permanent and pensionable job and a piece of land. We are to get our marriage certificate soon.
my sister is now a permanent resident of Canada. She suggested that she will invite my husband for a visit then they will find a way for him to remain there and then invite me later. How possible is it? What requirements should my husband have? Any response will be highly appreciated.

How would your husband remain in Canada? The plan is vague right now so hard to comment on what would be possible.

Do you mean that he would try to switch to a work permit?

How will your sister inviting your husband, who she is not even related to, help his application? He cannot live in Canada. He is a visitor. To be approved he needs to show his own funds for a visit, travel history, ties to home country and reason to travel. Processing is around 300 days so he wants to apply with a very strong application.

If your "plan" is to come later and your husband has been in Canada for a long time, your application is weak because IRCC will know you do not plan to return.

she just said she will invite him. He does not have a travel history, his ties is me and his business. Reason for traveling is to visit. What would be your advice?

So he would need to find a job and get an approved LMIA and then apply for a closed work permit. That can take a very long time. How long have you been married? Does your sister know him very well and spent a lot of time with him? Your sister inviting him may make no sense if you just got married. Also IRCC will know he is trying to come to Canada to work since you didn't apply along with him. There are red flags even before he applies. Does he have the funds to come to Canada?

If his ties are his business then he is leaving his business to find work in Canada. He needs to show business registration, client contracts and receipts. He is not visiting his family so not sure why he is coming.

so it doesn't make sense for him to be invited by my sister.

what if am the one invited?
we have been married for 2 years now
Sure. You need to declare all past refusals. You still need to show your funds, ties to home country (not just spouse, job letter with approved leave, investments), and travel history. Coming to work is a big, red flag. Still need an approved LMIA to apply for a closed work permit. This may take many months.

What would be your advice? Is it somehow easier for me or him? If am the one to be invited by my sister atleast i have documents to show that i will return to my country.
