To set the context:
I am sponsoring my parents (father + mother), my father being the Principal Applicant (PA) = 2 persons
My Canadian family is made of myself, my wife and one adult child = 3 persons
I am the ONLY sponsor
I am also the representative.

In January I have received a letter from IRCC, and I had to update the information on IMM 5406 - I had to add myself as a family member, even if I am Canadian, living in Canada, and not intending to immigrate to Canada :)

Yesterday I received (with MY name on it, not the PA's) an email from IRCC, informing me that the application was received (AOC) by IRCC (I presume they mean the necessary documents).
There is an UCI and the application number.

I created the GCKey : as a sponsor, I used MY information, because it pertains to future documentation - like the Financial Evaluation and so on, which is me, as a sponsor to present.
Using the newly created GCKey, I logged online to try to LINK the GCKey to the application number.
It doesn't work.

In the various choices it gives you, I chose [UCI and Application Number]
I entered the UCI, the application number and the rest.

Then it asks about the applicant, and it also offers various choices (by name, by passport, by a combination of, some other).
I entered the PA's information.

And it gets to the [Number of persons on the application].
The HELP page says that in this particular case, the number should present EVEN the sponsor - the minimum number entered there being 2 (one PA and one sponsor).
The HUGE question is what would be the number I have to write there?
NONE of these worked:
1. 2 (father + mother), then I got to the help page.
2. 3 (father + mother + me), based on IMM 5406
3. 5 (father + mother + me + wife + my kid)

So, based on the help page, I need to add the sponsor.
The very first application (IMM 0008) has ONLY 2 persons applying (my father + my mother).

So, my 2 answer should hve been accepted (2 applicants + me as a sponsor)

Can anybody clarify this?
Am I supposed to enter a different answer?

Thanks

If your wife is a cosigner in the sponsorship application then the answer should be 4 persons. If you are the sole signer in the sponsorship application, then the answer is 3 persons.
