MPNP - Information Inaccuracy

Hello everyone,

Pls kindly advise what I should do in this situation:

On December 2022 I submitted my full application to MPNP under EE. In January, I found out that my EE profile was ineligible and therefore canceled that application. I recently just submitted my 2nd full application to MPNP (this time under non-EE). Today I found out that 3-4 weeks ago, they called my employer and verified all the information in my Employment Letter, which she said it was all corrected except that when they asked, am I a human resource at the company, she said no he's an assistant.

Mind you, there's no human resource position at my company. All departments here have their own assistants which help the managers with whatever they need. And my manager let me do candidate interviews, resume screening, orientation, health & safety, etc. basically all HR job, but my title is still assistant. I wrote clearly in my Employment Letter that my title is assistant, and my daily duty is HR work, yet the caller only asked is he a human resource at your company which made her reply no he's an assistant.

I believe the call was for my previous application which i canceled earlier this month. Now I don't know if that will affect my new application. I talked to my employer and she said sorry to me and that she will explain to them when they call again. But I'm just worried that they already saved that phone call in my profile and won't call my employer again, and just deemed my profile as information inaccuracy. Is there anyway I can contact them and explain all this or do I have to wait until they contact me (or my employer) about this first?

Any help is highly appreciate

Just to be clear, in your assistant role, are your responsibilities all HR related? Or are there other things you do?

I'm not sure there's any way to contact them. I think you would normally wait for them to reach out to you with concerns.

I also do other duty, but my main daily work is still HR stuff. I wrote clearly all of those (both HR and non-HR related duties) in my Employment Letter so I wasn't lying to them and my manager did sign it. The problem was that they only asked if I was an "HR", which I'm not as there's no "HR" in my company, she didn't know and said no. My employer is really supportive and said she'd do anything to help me with this.

Thank you for your reply

I'm not sure that I would have picked an HR occupation if all of your duties aren't HR. Your role sounds more like a general assistant manager to me. Anyway, if you are confident that your employment letter has the right duties, then hopefully you'll be fine. If IRCC raised any objections, then you know you have your employer's support to provide more documents and clarify.

I did check the other NOC codes for all kinds of assistant roles on there and none of them matched my duty (12101 - Human resources and recruitment officers was the only one that matched mine the most as I do 80% of the things listed in that NOC code). From my research people said that job title doesn't matter what matter is the duties listed in the NOC code, therefore I chose it. Didn't know it'd make this kind of problem.

Do you think I should ask my manager to write a letter explaining the situation and then I submit it to my application? Or should I wait until they contact me about it.
