List of "combination" of factors immigration officer considers when demonstrating your establishment in Canada.

1) The duration of your stay in Canada. The longer the years of your stay in Canada, the better. However, there are exceptions to this rule in certain situation.

2) List and present evidence of things you have accomplished in Canada that is of benefit to yourself and to Canada as a whole. For example, did you complete your university education in Canada ? This accomplishment would immensely benefit Canada and the economy in the long run.

Another example could be that you brought a house or started a business that you are able to employ Canadians . This is would be seen as a huge benefit to Canada and economy.

3) You need to provide evidence that demonstrates that you have integrated into society ( especially in the area you reside). The way to demonstrate this is to provide letter from all friends you have been able to make in your area. It can be letter from your neighbors, landlord , co-workers at work, letter from charity organizations you have volunteered with in the area you live, letter from church or Mosque religious leader....the letter MUST state their relationship with you and how long they have known you for.

Pls, ensure that if any letter coming from friends, neighbors in the area you live in should ONLY com from people with Canadian citizenship or PR...avoid using anybody on visa. .... secondly, attach a copy of their official ID to each letter such as Driver license, OR PR card or Passport. This is very important because it add lot of CREDIBILITY to each letter....lastly, make sure you take pictures with each person writing this letter for you. Let the picture show activities you doing with each other.

If the letter will be coming from institution like your work place, or church or mosque or charity organization in your area, ensure the letter is on a LETTER HEAD PAPER..very important....they need to state how long they know you.and what you have done aka duties for them.

4) In the area you live, there are ICONIC BUILDINGS or locations that are like tourist buildings /areas . For example, the local government buildings, museum buildings, MP office, and any place that you know is a ICONIC place in that area. Take pictures of yourself in those locations.... On each pictures, describe the place so that immigration officer can know more about your community....

These move help to demonstrate to an immigration officer that you know a lot about your community and it's history.

5) Provide evidence of all your tax return in your application. This demonstrate that you have been contributing to the Canadian economy since you have been to Canada.... pls, ensure you provide all the copy of all tax assessment copy since you have been in Canada.

6) Are there projects you have done for your community ? If so, provide the evidence . In my case, as a computer science and math graduate from a Canadian university, I provided evidence of all the IT projects I have done for all the local business in my area. They all wrote me very good supporting letter that I am a good person and that they will like me to remain in Canada PERMANENTLY and that I have contributed a lot to their business . Keep in mind that people depend so much on these businesses in my community. For example, I created an ecommerce website for them during the pandemic since they were not getting customers come into their stores due to lock down.

7). Submit evidence of your criminal record to your application....if you have NO criminal record, It demonstrates that you are a good person who deserves to be part of the Canadian society.

8)...This is very important

When you have your friends and neighbors writing you a supporting letter, the core thing an immigration officer is looking for in all of those letter is IF WHETHER YOU HAVE ESTABLISHED A STRONG BOND ALL OF THEM.....

This is why it is important they state that they have a strong bond with you and that you have been of great help to them and that there is nobody to help them other than YOU and that if ask to go back your country, there will be nobody available to help them and they will become vulnerable.

In my case, one of my neighbor happen to be a senior. He is in his 70s. He wrote that I have been helping him when he needed help such as helping him run errands, taking him for medical appointments, helping clean his apartment. He stated that he too frail to do all this thing's that he needs me around. He said he have known for about 7years and have MAINTAINED A STRONG BOND with me and that if immigration ask me to go back my to my country, he would not be able to do all things by himself.Hence , leaving him venerable in the community. I took pictures with him while wee were eating, while we went out etc.

Above are combination of way you can demonstrate your establishment in Canada to an immigration officer.

Always remember, anything you claim, Always back up with evidence no matter how little it is. It adds credibility to any your say.

It is important NOT to do this when demonstrating establishment in Canada. ( PARTICULARLY FOR 1ST STAGE OF YOUR APPLICATION)

1) Do NOT submit a copy of your bank account statement showing Large amount of money in it for the FIRST STAGE of your application. .....trust me , am talking from personal experience. I learnt the hard way about this.

The immigration officer would argue that since you have lot of money in your account, you could as well use that money to ESTABLISH yourself in your home country.....Yes, the officer that worked in my application said this . What I had to do is take out all the money in my bank account and leave just about 1000 dollars in it. I stated that I am fast running out of money and that I have no means to establish myself in my home country and that REMAINING PERMANENTLY in Canada is my last hope of survival.

It is important to note that h and c application is about you demonstrating that CIRCUMSTANCE BEYOND YOUR CONTROL IS REASON WHY YOU Want TO REMAIN PERMANENTLY IN CANADA...You don't want to give them impression that you are rich or have so much money. If not, they will ask you to use your money to establish yourself in your country.
Thanks a lot. You really deserve to stay in Canada. Wishing you a successful life.

I didn’t submit all what you had listed. When I submitted my application through the lawyer, I didn’t have that much ideas about this type of application and I am regretting myself to not ask the lawyer to show me what she submitted. Is there a possibility to attach other documents.

Just curious.... Why didn't you pick.the paper application option ?

From my observations, paper application have a higher success rate than online application. One thing people need to know is online application have so many limitation. Keep in mind that the system is still new to SOME immigration officers ...For clients, there are things you which you have done in your application but can't do it due to the online limitation.

If I have chosen the online option for my application, there are so many I would not have been able.to.do.that have helped my paper application.
My lawyer filed out and i thought you cant do paper anymore as they rolled out new online portal system. @bella12

I am about to say something that a lot of immigration gurus in this forum and also those whose application was approved will 100 % agree with me.

What am about to say, am talking from personal experience and thousands of stories I have heard nd seen for myself.

As I am typing you this message, someone was recently deported back to his country. Meanwhile, the lawyer who worked on his application pretend like he does not know this client and did not even bother AS LONG AS THE LAWYER HAS BEEN PAID HIS FULL MONEY.

I also experience something similar. Inapid about 10, 000 dollars to my lawyer. That does not even include h and c application fees and PR fees. He even charge me for printing paper... Can you imagine ?

What was the outcome of my application ? It was REFUSED !. This means I lost my 10, 000dillars. You will not believe as soon as my application was refused, this lawyer blocked my number permanently. His office location is far away from me. He knows I will need to get in a plane to visit his office. He know it is not feasible to visit his office because he reside and his office location is in a different location. We only chat and talk via phone.

I also ALMOST got scammed by a second lawyer who wanted me to wire her a deposit of 3,000 dollars before she can start my application. I was very smart this time. Unknown to her, she does not even know I have not signed the contract she sent me. That was what saved me. I waited for about 7 month, she still have not even open my application. Yet, she keeps lying to me that she have started. I told her I want to cancel my contract in the 8th month. She got angry and told me I will have to pay her 500 dollars for cancellation of contract FOR DOING NOTHING.

Because I refused, she seized all the documents I sent to her. She said she will not return it back to me till I have give her that money. I remember that all the documents I gave were all PHOTOCOPY of my original documents. Since I have the original documents with me I did not bother to use any more. Till present, my documents are still with her.

THIS IS WHY I ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE NEVER TO GIVE OR HAND OVER ANY LAWYER YOUR *ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS*.. do not make this mistake!

Here is my observation of lawyers .

Lawyers love to work client who are in fear and gullible or have no idea of the immigration process. They love this type of clients because they easy to gaslight or manipulate..

They Hate when clients ask questions ( especially question that will make have a good knowledge of how immigration process work )

You will notice that when lawyer is working on a client application, they like to KEEP THE CLIENT IN THE DARK... you the client will have no clue of what the lawyer has done or is doing. You hardly is given opportunity CAREFULLY TAKE YOUR TIME READ AKD CHECK ALL HIS/HER work before the lawyer submit your application. ...all they want is for you to have FATE in what they are doing.

Notice when you ask too much questions especially when they telling something that makes no sense, they get angry and issue you with threat of terminating your contract with you ( WITHOUT REFUND OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY)...

Can I also add that the fear factor when you run out of status is often the core reason people run to lawyers LIKE THEY ARE SAVIOUR OF HUMANITY.

Also, you need to be very careful of google reviews of lawyers. A lot of it are fake !!!.... it's easy to create a lot of Gmail accounts to write those reviews. Also, there are companies that specialize in writing those reviews for lawyers once they are paid.

Another thing I find disturbing when SOME people patronize the lawyer they use for their application which was approved is that...they tell how the lawyer they use is good and help towards making their application a success ( which I don't doubt)....what is often missing is that THEIR APPLICATION FOR APPROVE BASE ON THE MERIT OF YOUR CASE...IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING SPECIAL THAT A LAWYER HAVE DONE IN YOUR APPLICATION.

if doubt of this claim, when you hire a lawyer, ask him or her WHAT IS SUCCESS RATE OF MY APPLICATION IF YOU WORK ON IT ?...... carefully watch the time of his voice.... BEFORE you make payment, he will BRAG on how he has help so many people in your situation get their application approved. Hence giving you the impression that he can do the same for you to get yours approved...

AFTER you make payment, wait for few days...ask him or her the SAME question . The lawyer will tell you to your face it is up to IRCC to decide that. Which implies he is not sure of himself....notice how the tone of his voice change ? But this was not what the lawyer told you BEFORE payment..now you have paid, you are TRAPPED.

If you always carefully read through the contract they ask.you client.to sign, there will always be a paragraph that says YOUR MONEY IS NOT REFUNDABLE OF YOU CHOOSE TO CANCEL CONTRACT WITH THEM....and also, THE LAWYER HAVE THE RIGHT.TO CANCEL THEIR CONTRACT WITH YOU WITH NO REFUND....

if doubt, read your contract again.....

To answer your question........

If you have a very good lawyer who have your best interest, you can add additional documents to your application.

Unfortunately, most lawyers will charge MORE money for adding documents after they have submitted your application. They are lazy to be bothered about your application....ALLL they after is YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ....This will end up discouraging you from adding more documents.

This is why I prefer to do my application myself....let me ask you, within how many min can a lawyer know everything about your immigration history ?...

They just ask you few question...they are done... This is why they always write GENERIC STATEMENTS ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS in your application....what do you expect ?.....

You know your LIFE and IMMIGRATION story because you experience it yourself. You are in the BEST position to present all the documents that you know will help your application.

This is why always tell people to come to this forum to ask questions. Seek guidance on how to do your application.. even if you decide.to give a lawyer your application, there are certain things a lawyer will NEVER bother to do that are important .

With the help, advice and guidance from different people in this forum ( especially @kaytoon ), I humble to say today that I am a permanent resident of Canada

Well, don't forget at the time of submission of application, there was no online application. But I assure you that all what I submitted via paper, if I was to have submitted them all via online portal, I know for sure my application will be refused. There are so many limitations to the online system. It will make impossible to present my application they way I feel will get the attention of any immigration officer attention. Remember, presentation of your application is very important.

For example, I submitted 2 large folders.

One folder is ONLY evidence while the second folder is where I wrote about 32 page talking about my immigration story and history in Canada. I wrote it each of my points paragraphs by paragraph so that it easy to for an officer to read and understand.

Any claim made in immigration story and history, I always back it up with evidence. So, I will say PLEASE, SEE EVIDENCE ***** in the evidence folder on page ****

Did you notice this method makes it extremely easy for anybody to understand all what I have written about myself. It also makes it easy to navigate all my documents WITHOUT stress....

I also provided LIST OF CONTENT as the front cover on each folder so that it will be easy for immigration officer to navigate or find any documents they looking for...

Can you see how I have made life easy for the immigration officer ?.... This makes your application SELF EXPLANATORY without AMBIGUITY or CONFUSION that will stress up the immigration officer.

I always say this...make life easy for them..ensure your application is SELF EXPLANATORY because you would not be there to defend any confusion or ambiguity or something they can't comprehend....this is one of the CORE reason for refusals of any application...

that's why some people wonder why despite they have a strong case or submitted all the right documents, they were refused and wonder why....

If I were you, before your lawyer go ahead to do the online application, I will do my own independent research to find if paper application is still available or ask gurus in the forum...... You can't always believe anything lawyer say.

I submitted mine on the 27th of May 2022and they acknowledged receipt on the 10th of June 2022. I checked the portal and it says processing began in September 2022. Can I still add documents to it because I didn’t add pictures to my applications just letters from work, church and volunteer group! With this post that pictures are needed I am getting worried.
