process time are too long , it use to be only one year before but since last year it has become worse

It is not a high priority for IRCC compared to most other visas and permits because except a small number of cases the applicants aren’t benefitting Canada and can actually be a large drain on resources. There is clearly a benefit to the actual family but usually not Canada in general. The parents usually have the option to appply to visit on a supervisa while waiting for the their PGP application to be processed. There are very few countries that allow parents and grandparents to be sponsored with access to public healthcare and receive other supports right away or in 10 years. Having the option to sponsor and already being selected means that you have already been quite lucky.

Hi all,

I had applied to sponsor my mother in Dec 2022.

But I have received an email stating that the application is incomplete. It says that the form Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) is not completed fully.

My father passed away so I had filled the form only for my mother, and in the children details I didn't include my details because the form clearly says that fill details for the children who are not Canadian PR or Citizens (I am already a Canadian Citizen). Should I have filled my details too?

Also I didn't fill this form on behalf of my brother (married) or my sister(married), because I though only family members had to fill and children who are not dependency anymore are not considered family. Was this assumption wrong and I should fill the form myself also and ask my siblings also to fill the form and sign?

I would really appreciate if someone can please help with these queries.

Not familiar with the new forms but you do need to include your father on your mother’s application as a spouse but then indicate he is deceased. YoI should include death certificate or equI alert.

No i did not receive any request for PCC . it was a generic letter ( Sponsorship approval ) in which they mentioned to submit pcc if not already submitted so i will submit it upfront .

I submitted my parents application on Dec 19th 2022

I got a request to send IMM5406e on Feb 21st 2023,

I have few doubts if someone can help:
1. I forgot to include one dead sibling of my mother - Will that be fine if i include them now as i did not mention them in online application?
2. I did not include myself in children when I submitted online. I will add myself now
3. Date of births of my grand parents are unknown, should i fill 1901/01/01? this is what i filled in online application
4. Most the people in this form don't have email addresses, should i write 'Unknown' or 'Not Applicable'?
5. there is only space to add 3 siblings in section C, how do i add more?

If someone could help that will be great. TIA

I had submitted my parents permanent resident application in December 2022 and yesterday we got an update email from IRCC and when I checked online it’s showing status as returned and only detail I can see is incomplete document for Imm5476e(I was the representative)which seems to be due to missing spouse signature.No letter has been by IRCC yet for reason to return.How to do I resubmit the doc? Does a return application mean we can’t reapply as I don’t see any option online to resubmit?

You can fix your Rep form and submit it using the online web form .

1. I think it should be fine to include them now ( Sibling) .
2. Yes you can include yourself , since last time when you submitted it was not a complete form.
3. For date of birth i have seem people putting the best estimated date . But you need to keep this record so it can match all other future application . This is not the best recommended way but i have seen people doing it without any problem as long as you keep this as record and in future you use same date again . I would say wait for other people to respond about this and see what is the best process to include date of death
4. Yes you can use N/A.
5. If you are not able to add more sibling then add a copy of letter and mentioned all other sibling in that latter make sure you submit this letter with the form.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if IRCC sent a letter with details on the reason to return the application as sometimes its not clear on what is missing in the document other than a message shown against the document online that it is incomplete?

I just called ircc no. And check the application with the file no. I received starting with XF00***** from a doc. Request in dec

They confirm the application when i entered this file no. Without x and rest all is in process only background is saying we are processing instead of is in process
So dont know but happy to hear they are wrking on it

Haven't received aor yet but this application no. Work so i guess this a aor

I heard govt have moved 1900 PR application to the front of the queue who are affected by Earthquake may be that will delay all other application
