am 2019 applicant I just had my oath last Friday and yesterday they closed my application thanks god that i finshed I know how pain it is waiting for long time just c of Covid 19

Yes, around seven weeks ago. I went to MP and they called them. Also I requested GCMS on August 2022, and I seen that due date for background is Feb 10 2023. In this month I got Test.

Want to ask you.
I did the test on Feb 17 and they marked it as completed in 20 February but, didn’t see this update on Feb 20th. I seen this update today morning and I found gust update on February 22 (today) dues this update for test completion or for new thing in the way.

I did call MP too also after I sent an email for Minister@cic.gc.ca they replied me after 3 weeks after got there email started seeing changes on my application

I read you suggests mandamus, what is that and should i wait little more after background check is complete or go for mandamus? Also any idea how much it would cost? Thanks

Hi, background completed is great news, congrats! A lot of people in your situation have seen an update 1-2 months after background, so hang in there. Since you're over the average processing time, you could try contacting them, asking for speedy processing.

Mandamus is useful where there's no movement and it's taking too long. Try searching the forum with that keyword to find others who have filed mandamus. They would be in a good position to advise on it further.

Finally!! And after more than 2 years.. I'm happy to share that my application was updated and the background check and LPP are now completed!

Timelines:

Mar 2021: Application submitted
Aug 2021: AOR
Nov 2021: Test Scheduled
Nov 2021: Test Completed
Nov 2021: 1st FP request
Dec 2021: 1st FP received
Dec 2022: 2nd FP request
Dec 2022: 2nd FP received
Feb 2023: BG Check Completed
Mar 2023: Interview Required
Mar 2023: LPP Completed

Oath invitation is the next step for me. Hope that will come sooner than later..

My advice is just to be patient and hang in there... You can be proactive and follow up with IRCC but unfortunately that does not always help, especially when the application is stuck in the security clearance. There's little to no information that they share in those cases. My application was stuck in security clearance for 16 months. I contacted IRCC by phone and by email countless number of times without getting any useful information.

Thanks to everyone in this forum who helped by sharing their information, timelines, and perspectives. And best of luck to anyone that has their application still in progress, especially to those with the security clearance pending.

Hi, why do you have 2 FP request? Was there a discrepancy between both or IRCC never received the first ones?
