Dear Members,

Can anyone guide regarding my below queries:

1). I am currently on visit visa in Canada. I am looking for job . How can i get approved LMIA(employer based). any leads here?
2). After getting LMIA, and work permit, what will be the period of work permit(Number of years)?
3).Will i be eligible to file application for PR after work permit or do i have to go through express entry after the expiry of my work permit?
4)After my work permit , will my dependent's(Wife and kids) will also get visa ?
5)Do i also have option to convert visit visa to study visa?(any diploma etc) from inside canada?

Kindly address these queries.

1. No leads. You have to find an employer through online sites like Job Bank.
2. Decided by IRCC.
3. If eligible for Express Entry and your job is skilled you may be able to apply for PR. Depends on your ECA and IELTS too.
4. Depends if your job is skilled.
5. No. You have to apply for a study permit and show career progression in home country, funds, etc.

Covid LMIA policy ends in a few days so after February 28, you must file for a closed work permit outside Canada if you get a LMIA.

So you mean if anyone has Canada visit visa and he is in Canada , he cannot get approved LMIA from inside Canada after 28th feb?

It means that after Feb 28th, you cannot apply for the work permit from within Canada. The application has to be submitted to a visa office outside of Canada.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. The public policy ends on February 28th. IRCC can certainly extend that policy. They have made no announcement about this to date. If they make no announcement and/or do not extend the policy, then the previous rules will once again apply which require the application to be processed through a visa office outside of Canada.

CIC yet has to announce about new information over this.

Less than a week away with no announcement of extension so right now ends next week. The policy was announced in august 2020 when borders were closed and was supposed to end in 2022 but was extended until next week. Usually any extensions are posted well in advance.

They don’t have to announce anything. The public policy is up to 2023-02-28. If they don’t extend it , it’ll automatically revert to the rules of the original policy
