You may need an interview. In situations where couples have not doesn’t spend together this is common. It would have been better for you to have net in person once and then on the second visit get married but it’s too late for that so nothing you can do about it. You aren’t the first person to get married on the first visit. Sponsorship will likely take 1+ years (especially if you need an interview) and there will be months where you don’t hear anything. That is standard and you’re at the very beginning of the process. If you have AOR already you are doing well.
Yeah we have the AOR, SA and the PA's eligibility is in progress. We thought of just meeting on the first visit but with the unsurity of covid 19 and borders being closed we decided to get married on the first visit. Cuz I already had to postpone my trip 3 times cuz the borders were closed. I guess I can only wait and see what happens. That makes sense. Any idea if we do get interview will it be at the local VO of PA? Do I have to go as well or they only ask PA to come? Thanks

Do not worry, even we have applied in June and similar case to yours, PA eligibility and background has not started yet. Time will answer, all we can do is to wait until we get some update on GC key.

Interview can be in the country or at the VO. Dependent on the situation. Sometime both options are offered because IRCC staff on,y goes to the country of origin on specific dates in the year so going to the VO can be a faster options if it is possible. It is extremely variable depending on the country, the volume of applications from the country and the safety/ability for Canadian staff to travel to the specific country. No need for the Canadian spouse to be in the home country for the interview.

I met my wife online in September 2021, and we met in person on a trip to Jamaica in December 2021. We got engaged 2 weeks later on January 1st 2022. I returned to Canada on January 7th 2022. I returned to Jamaica in May 2022 for 3 weeks to marry my wife. I arrived a week before the wedding and then we went on a two-week honeymoon. We applied 2 months after our wedding once we got all our documents in order. Our outland application was lightning fast, and she is now a PR. Our application was 6 months start to finish. See my signature for the timeline.

My recommendations are having a proper wedding ceremony and reception with more than 2 guests. A honeymoon and lots of photos. My wedding was not too big. We had 17 guests. All my wife's side of the family. Mine couldn't attend because of covid, but they watched via the internet. We also provided 3 letters each from family members on each side of the family. This was my third marriage and we never got an interview request. I also provided a detailed explanation as to why my previous two marriages failed. I also did not place blame on one person, as it takes two to Tango, and doing so shows you don't take personal responsibility. But most important is being honest!

Oh we had proper ceremonies. We had 5 ceremonies in total with over 200 guests in 2 of them. We provided screenshots of both our social media posts and comments from family and friends congratulating us and acknowledging our marriage. I guess all we can do now is wait and hope for the best. If they go through our chats that we provided, it will give them a clear idea of the progression of our relationship. Hope they do go through them and not ignore that.
