Hello Folks, I am a Canadian citizen and work in the USA. My wife is a PR holder and has not completed her 1095 as a PR.
I have two questions:
  1. Would her days outside Canada living with me in the USA would be counted towards her citizenship days?
  2. Would her time as a visitor (6 Months) before getting her work permit to be also counted towards Citizenship?
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

- No for the first part.
-It can be but it should be within 5 yrs from the date of submitting the citizenship application Each day will be considered as half day

Her days outside accompanying you (a citizen) can only be counted for her PR's RO. 2 years out of the first 5 years.
Those days cannot count towards citizenship requirement.

Time as a visitor before she landed as a PR can be counted (half day for each day and up to 1 year and within the first 5 years) towards citizenship but NOT RO.

Thank s @abbas.pasha and @YVR123

Here are the timelines as per legal status in Canada
Arrived in Canada in March 2019 on Visitor Visa
Got a work permit in Nov 2019
Got PR in May 2020

What I want to confirm is that if her time between march 2019 and Nove 2019 is counted towards her 0.5 days in Canada 1095 days obligation.

Thank you for your support and answers.

Take a look at this example which I provided on a separate thread..
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/tourist-visa-before-becoming-a-pr-how-to-enter-details-in-physical-presence.786737/post-10329643

You should start working on the PPC tool to get all necessary info about the number of days: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/rescalc/resCalcStartNew.do

Once you feed the dates in the tool the system will automatically calculate time inside Canada as a visitor and PR

It counts as half days up to a year for physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days in the five years immediately before the date of your application.

It does NOT count as Residency Obligation. But her time accompanying you outside does count for RO.
  • you must have been physically present in Canada for a minimum of 730 days within the past five (5) years.
