Hello All,

I need help with any suggestions, I sponsored my husband for PR (Outland), and he was invited for an Interview in a different country, I am not required to be present but I need to be close to my phone for a call.

However, I am wondering why they want to interview us:

1. Married for 11 years
2. 4 kids
3. Separated 2 years
4. Remarried after 2 years then I sponsored him last year after re-marrying.

Is anyone able to tell us why the interviewed was likely scheduled and what questions to expect?

Thank you for your support

Probably something to do with #3 and #4. Maybe they want to make sure you have genuienly reunited and this isn't being done for the sake of immigration and your children. Have you ordered your GCMS notes to see the details of your case?

Looking back, it looks like your husband may have had a misrepresention ban. Is that right? If so, this is most likely part of it. If he didn't, then ignore this comment.

The ban is mentioned in your past posts. I have to say that I feel your history may be a bit problematic.

So this is how this may look to IRCC... At the start, neither you nor your husband are PRs. Your husband is given a ban which means he's inadmissible. This means that you cannot get PR either while he is inadmissible. You divorce him to fix this issue. You then apply for PR without him. You get PR, then remarry him, and then sponsor him for PR once the inadmissibility ban is over. IRCC may be wondering if the divorce was genuine or if it was done to get around the admissibility issue and allow you to get PR.

So my opinion is that you should expect questions possibly about your divorce and then possibly also about the fact that you remarried. The reason for the interview may be because IRCC wants to make sure one or both of these things were genuine and not done for immigration purposes.

But this is just me guessing.

Your guess might be right. Because we have been wondering why IRCC is doubting an 11yrs marriage with kids. But the separation was not because of PR. But we will work around it

Be prepare to come with a lot of proof that you were genuinely separated for the exact same period you applied for PR because it looks extremely suspicious. Do you have record of legal custody agreements, support payments, proof of how you got back together and whether you got back together after you landed as a PR. Getting back together after receiving PR and getting remarried so quickly so you could apply for sponsorship looks very suspicious and IRCC is not naive. It looks like after you hit PR you were married again and had filed for sponsorship within 6 months. Had you visited your spouse multiple times after landing as a PR but behind getting married? When was the wedding since it would take a while to get things like the marriage license and other documents before you can apply for sponsorship? You had to provide strong proof that you were legally separated and on the way to divorce to get approved for PR on your own with your children so to be remarried around 6 months later and to restart the whole relationship again after you got PR seems very fast if it was in 6 months.

No, we did not get married after PR, PR was Oct 2021. We remarried in March 2022. After so many family interventions. But I understand what you meant. Thank you

I also traveled twice to visit him before we remarried. I have the proofs, will this help?

Once and then you got married. Were these visits after you received PR in October? Getting PR in October and getting remarried in March is a very short timeline if you are saying that you were legally separated with no romantic relationship until after October but suddenly after you got PR your families started to intervene to get you back together. It just doesn’t sound realistic that there was no effort to get you back together during the 2 years when you were separated and applying for PR yet suddenly after getting PR things changed so rapidly.
