Indian Passport Renewal from BLS Toronto

Got my renewed passport from BLS Brampton. Here is my timeline. (No Police verification happened in India). Went to BLS in person (appointment booked upfront).

Note: BLS India will take your existing Indian passport when you apply for a new one.
Both the old passport and new passport will be dispatched together later.
So, make sure you do not have any travel pans lined up until you get both the passports back.

Hi @krishere1982 on which email do you get the intimation that police verification has been initiated? After how many days is Police Verification normally initiated?

I got email to the email address that I mentioned in the application. This is my timeline :
Sep 22, 2022 - Purolator delivered application at BLS Surrey.
Oct 12, 2022 - Application received on BLS website. Didn't check BLS website after Oct 6. Status might have posted earlier.
Oct 14, 2022 - Processing at Consulate General on BLS website.
Oct 15, 2022 - Received Police Verification Initiated email.
Oct 23, 2022 - Police Verification completed.
Oct 26, 2022 - Status on Passport Seva - "Print has been initiated for passport".

Can't really say after how many days the PV gets initiated. It varies depending on the applicant and the location.

Are you a PR or on Work permit. To confirm whether your canadian address is going to be printed on the address or the indian address.

PR. I don't know if that matters though. I was on work visa before. Even then they printed non-Indian address on the passport.

What is the validity for passport for a work Permit/PR after its renewed? Few people on Work Permit got 2 or 5 yr validity after renewing passport. Any idea?
BLS/CGI website mentions 10 yr for PR/Work permit, though.

My passport is under renewal and I was asked to put canadian address mandatorily being on PR. My friend who is on WP, was asked to put Indian address and a police verification happened at their indian address.

I submitted renewal for my 4 year old on 28 Dec. The status has been like this since 19th Jan 2023. Had my dad go to the police station and complete the formalities on the 20th Jan 23.

What does this status mean? anyone in the same boat or am I being impatient.

Did you say YES or NO to the question where it asked if you have applied for citizenship for another country ? Did you had to provide additionial documents in regards to your citizenship application ?

Thank you for the response, I called BLS today and they asked me to mark the answer to the question NO if I have not yet received the citizenship. I am a little paranoid now, I asked her if this is misrepresentation but she mentioned it is not. so a little confused

Hello, I have been on Print Initiated status since 11th January and today is 16 January.
Is anyone in the same boat?
Looking at the other posts, it seems it should have been printed by now.

Regardless of status in Canada, police verification could be required as citizenship is still Indian. If PV was done in the recent years then it isn't done during passport renewal.
